Creativity in Quarantine | How I survived Covid-19 without going too crazy
It’s been a mental rollercoaster since getting back from Africa in March. Initially trying to wrap my head around when international travel would start again along with what to do so I can pay bills in the mean time was intense. I found myself playing more VR games to pass the time because it got me moving a bit as well… Then one day while playing Bait I started laughing at how funny it would be to dress like the stereotypical “fisherman” while playing.
This got me thinking about how amusing it would be to stage other outdoor activities I enjoy while being stuck in the house… all in the image of using VR. The biggest thing for me was that I didn’t want it to feel like work, and I wanted it to be fun. So I limited it to spending no more than 1 hour on any image, and only using my GNARBOX/cell phone to edit the images.
It’s definitely been an outside the box bit of fun for me as it’s wildly different than my usual work. I’ve enjoyed it along with the laughter it brought others. While I cranked out a lot right away, there’s still some ideas brewing which aren’t quite ready for public consumption yet.
