Gear Testing | Filming Bison at Antelope Island State Park
When it comes to preparing for big projects with very specific needs I am a huge advocate of real world situation gear tests. I’ve got a project in the works which will involve paying for flights by the pound of all gear going on the plane… which means everything has to be as compact & lightweight as possible. The following footage was captured while out doing some testing of potential new gear for this project out at Antelope Island State Park.
One of the new pieces of gear being tested was the Benro s6Pro tripod head. It’s a really compact fluid head which can handle up to 13.4 pounds of weight… which covers the fx6 rigged with our anticipated maximum weight of AKS on it. I definitely need to get out and use it a bit more, but my initial thoughts are most definitely positive.
The Osee t5+ monitor was my other new piece of gear being tested. It’s a pretty solid 5” monitor that’s easy to use which for under $150 is a fantastic buy. I do wish it was brighter & had SDI input which are things Osee has said is in the works for a new product. They do have these features in a 7” monitor which I may try… and can’t wait to see it in a 5” version for on camera monitoring.
No worries people…. I’ll be doing more in depth reviews of the products as more testing gets done, but I can’t wait to get out there and film some more with it all!
